Consumption of macadamias in China is increasing exponentially, as are the number of macadamia trees being planted throughout the country. China's largest growing macadamia region (the Yunnan province in southern China) already has as many trees in the ground as Australia, and there are plans to plant 2 million+ trees there per year until 2020.
Our experts conducted a detailed study tour of the Chinese macadamia industry in 2013, and have developed a keen understanding of the key challenges faced by Chinese growers, as well as the practical solutions needed to overcome these challenges and maximise returns. We continue to contribute to the rapid development of the Chinese macadamia industry by providing expert advice and project management to growers in key growing regions.

Project - Detailed study tour of the China macadamia industry (2013)
-
Summary - Our managing director Kim Wilson joined fellow Australian macadamia industry experts (Kevin Quinlan and Kim Jones) on this two-week tour of two of China’s major macadamia growing regions – the Guangxi and Yunnan provinces. The tour was partly funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia and the group toured a variety of macadamia nurseries, young and mature macadamia farms and major processing facilities. They gained an in-depth understanding of the key factors driving the burgeoning growth of the Chinese macadamia industry, and their final report was presented at the 2014 Australian Macadamia Industry Conference.
